Dr. Alla Goldberg is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Goldberg completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Ohio State University Medical Center. She completed fellowships at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California Los Angeles in uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases, and at Retina and Vitreous of Texas in Houston in vitreoretinal surgery and disease. After a few years of practicing at the University of Texas at Houston, where she established a uveitis curriculum for her residents, she relocated to Atlanta and changed paths into private practice.
One of only a few ophthalmologists in Georgia who are fellowship-trained in both retina and uveitis, Dr. Goldberg has over a decade of experience in clinical practice in both uveitis and retinal surgery. Her clinical interests include complex retinal surgery in adults (diabetic detachments, trauma, recurrent retinal detachments), macular surgery (macular holes and membranes), macular degeneration, vascular diseases (vein and artery occlusions), and ocular inflammatory diseases including, but not limited to infectious and non-infectious uveitis, retinitis, scleritis, vasculitis and orbital inflammatory disease in both adults and children.
Dr. Goldberg is particularly committed to educating patients on their condition and their available treatment options.
Dr. Goldberg is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Uveitis Society. Additionally, her abstracts and articles have been published in multiple industry-leading medical journals.
A native of Moscow, Russia, she was raised in the Midwest. She now resides in Atlanta with her husband and three sons. Dr. Goldberg enjoys spending time with her family, entertaining guests and traveling.
